VEX Robotics

Requirements: 6th-8th grade

Purpose: VEX Robotics is a robotics program for elementary through university students, and a subset of Innovation First International. The VEX Robotics competitions and programs are managed by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (REC).[1] In April 2018, VEX Robotics Competition was named the largest robotics competition in the world by Guinness World Records

American Mathematics Competitions

Requirements: Must be in grade 6-8th to be considered.
Meetings: Tuesdays
Purpose: The purpose of the AMC Math Club is to strengthen problem-solving skills and foster a love of mathematics by preparing students for the MAA’s American Mathematics Competitions. The club provides enrichment, challenge, and opportunities for students to develop analytical skills for future success.

Purpose: The purpose of the MathCounts Club is to challenge students through problem-solving and critical thinking as they prepare for competitions at the school, chapter, state, and national levels. The club provides opportunities for teamwork, advanced math practice, and developing perseverance while competing against peers from across the country.

Purpose: The purpose of the Drone Club is to give students hands-on experience in STEM through learning to safely operate drones, working as a team, and exploring real-world applications of aerial robotics while preparing for HPS-wide and regional competitions.

Purpose: Soccer is available for all students who have the desire to compete in winter season. In the fall, students will begin preparing to compete during the second semester.

Purpose: The mission of this program is to provide academic and social opportunities to prepare students in quest of higher education. With this program they can develop team work skills which is important to real world experiences that they will face outside of middle school.

Purpose: The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

Purpose: The purpose of the organization is to create a greater sense of responsibility within the student body; to strive for better student/faculty relationship; to promote unification of the student body and better representation of its ideas to the faculty and administration; to promote a positive attitude in the advancement of leadership and loyalty; to promote spirit in the school activities; as well as to uphold traditions and to set standards for generations of Harmony students to come. The objective of Student Council is to provide a service organization doing various activities within the community throughout the year, while developing student leaders.

Purpose: The Music Club offers students a space to share their passion for music, whether through singing, playing instruments, or music appreciation. It encourages creativity, collaboration, and performance opportunities within a supportive environment. In the fall the club is available to 6th-8th grade only. In the spring it will be available to 3rd-5th grade students as well.
