Senior named as one in 62 Texas NHS Scholarship Semi-Finalist
History Teacher David Cleb, student Asiye A., Principal in Residence Serdar Ozguvan, Principal Unal Sabri (L to R) Harmony Science Academy-Pflugerville (HSA-Pf) proudly announces that Asiye Akin, a high school senior and president of the National Honor Society (NHS), has been selected as an NHS Scholarship semi-finalist. This marks the third consecutive year that a student from HSA-Pf’s NHS chapter has earned a place among the nation’s top 600 NHS semi-finalists, with Asiye standing out as one of only 62 semi-finalists in Texas this year. The prestigious NHS Scholarship recognizes outstanding student leaders who exemplify the organization’s four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Asiye’s selection highlights her unwavering dedication to academic excellence and community service. With over 400 hours committed to mentoring and tutoring, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a passion for making a difference. “Asiye’s recognition as an NHS Scholarship semi-finalist is a testament to her hard work, perseverance, and commitment to service,” said Mr. Sabri Unal, principal of Harmony Science Academy-Pflugerville. “Her achievements reflect the strength of our NHS chapter and the culture of excellence at HSA-Pf.” Asiye has accepted an offer to study business at the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and aspires to continue her education at one of the nation’s top universities. |
